Understanding LCBC's identity through their digital presence
1.
What do the visual aspects on the site
(especially pictures) communicate about who is a member or part of their
community/church?
-
The pictures and videos on the LCBC website shows
that this group has a variety of members; in their visuals we see people of all
ages interacting, and some playing musical instruments.
2.
What do these churches seem to value based on
the content/features/themes they highlight on their site?
-
The church seems to value being together and
bringing others to the church as seen in their next steps section of their website,
which includes advice on how to start in the church and serve others. Their inclusion
of uploaded services also demonstrates how committed this group is to spreading
their philosophies. Interestingly they also have a section dedicated to helping
one manage their finances because “following Jesus includes understanding how
to handle God’s money, his way, for his Glory.”
3.
What story do the design and visual aspects of
the websites communicate about what makes them a church, and what are their
unique characteristics?
-
This church’s design helps users to understand
how much this group holds value in the idea that people can choose their own
path. From their name alone, Lives Changed by Christ, we can see that they believe
their congregation holds meaning and can help others find purpose. They immediately
seek to show how their church can help others through allowing people to visit
the church and watch past services so others can see the work they do and what
their mission is. When you scroll further down on their home page the other images
and links once again reminds us that we choose our own paths and they provide
us with ways to get closer to God. The group also shows that it’s never too early
to start following the path of Christ, which is demonstrated by the fact that
they include a kid and student section on their home page.
4.
What would you say are the top priorities of
this church, based on the aspects of their services or ministries they
highlight?
-
This groups’ top priority includes helping people
“navigate your best next step to grow in your faith.” This is highlighted in
their first steps environment, as well as their starting point group that seeks
to help people get accustomed or re-accustomed to the faith. The group also
seeks to connect members of the Christian faith and help them learn to live
their “best life through fully following Jesus.”
While you clearly answer the questions i am looking for you to provide more details about where exactly you saw this on the site. Please include links and images to back up your claims and more fully illustrate how they visually present their identity.
