Introduction to LCBC

LCBC stands for Lives Changed by Christ. Their website, which can be found in the link below, is, upon first glance, meant to help people who are new to the church understand what LCBC stands for, and it encourages visitors to take steps that will lead one down the LCBC path.

LCBC: Communicating Belief and Practice Online

1. It appears that this groups’ audience is a wide variety of believers of the Christian faith. I assume they're targeting people who are already believers because of the name of their church LCBC "Lives Changed by Christ":   Furthermore, they also seem to be interested in attracting people of all ages to their congregation. I say this because the first image on their homepage includes a photo of people of different age groups and when you hover on their about section you can see this in the list of pages, that range from kids to adults, they have available as is shown in the next two images. 2. I would argue that this groups’ main goal is to bring people together who hold the same basic beliefs about Christianity and connect them with others who share their values. LCBC: Performing Religious Identity through the Digital

Based on my observations I believe LCBC to be of the Christian religious identity. I say this because LCBC stands for Lives Changed by Christ, which you can see from the image below. This is the first image presented when you go onto the groups’ website. I believe they are Christians because of the messages that they communicate. For example, this next image (also on their homepage) invites us to “live the best life through fully following Jesus”. Furthermore, their Next Steps program, which instructs people on how to become members of the congregation, also includes language referring to Jesus that backs up my claim that this group identifies as Christians.
